The fall season usually heralds the return of sweater weather, hot apple cider, and trips into Central Park to admire the fiery autumnal foliage. Fall also means that it’s back to school and regular life after the long, languorous days of summer. ARO’s no-fee apartments in Manhattan make the most of the season with activities galore for its residents, who can enjoy fall from the comforts of home. Here’s a preview of some of the events in store exclusively at ARO.
Halloween Party | Friday, October 29, 6:00 pm
What would fall be without a spooky, haunted, and candy-filled celebration for Halloween? ARO will be hosting a “cocktail hour”-style Halloween mixer with a menu of scream-worthy cupcakes from Sweet and Salty Queens, face painting, and music. Expect monster-mashing and entertainment for all ages. The festivities will take place at the Club One Atrium, just outside the gym.
Kaiseki Room by Yamada | Restaurant Opening
As seen on the New York Times off the menu section and just a 3 minute walk from ARO, Kaiseki Room by Isao Yamada is an intimate kaiseki restaurant offering a single seasonal menu consisting of 11 beautifully presented courses. For $300 diners can indulge in a culinary experience including toro tartare with osetra caviar, chawanmushi with uni and horsehair crab and even an imported Sanuki-Wagyu.
Toys for Tots Charity Drive | Monday, November 1 (ongoing)
November begins with the kickoff of the Toys for Tots charity drive. Both an online and receptacle option will be available for residents to donate toys, books, and other gifts to this decades-old charity. Best of all, they’ll be spreading some holiday cheer early to children from families in need.
Pop-Up NYC Marathon Sign Making | Saturday, November 6, 12:00 pm
For residents with friends, colleagues, or loved ones running the 2021 New York City marathon—or those who just want to encourage the roughly 30,000 runners who converge on the city for this ultimate test of endurance—ARO will be hosting a pop-up NYC Marathon sign-making session. Brainstorm empowering slogans and decorate signs with fellow supporters to help marathoners get across the 26.2-mile stretch. This activity will take place at Club One at noon on Saturday before the Sunday marathon. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Thanksgiving Dessert Tasting | Thursday, November 18, 6:30 pm
What could be more decadent and satisfying than a dessert tasting? Sweet and Salty Queens will be offering up sample sweet potato pies, apple cider donuts, pumpkin pecan donuts, and more! Enjoy the best part of Thanksgiving before you’re too full of turkey (though there’s nothing wrong with filling up). And find a dessert (or two) to bring along to your Thanksgiving gathering. The tasting will take place in ARO’s Epicurean Kitchen.
